[15.06.23] ENPOR’s recommendation included in the new version of the practical guide “Climate Protection in Municipalities” in German
The guide is the standard work in municipal climate protection and provides comprehensive know-how on local climate protection measures. It is designed as a practical knowledge resource primarily for climate protection staff in municipalities and organisations, but also for other actors in climate protection. Fact sheets for concrete climate protection measures – including an evaluation of their effectiveness – are intended to inspire people to take action themselves. Numerous infographics visualise the know-how conveyed. The practical guide is aimed both at beginners and at those who already have some knowledge of municipal climate protection and want to delve deeper into specific topics or aspects. In addition to measures such as influencing energy prices, for example through municipal and regional institutions, municipalities have other options for actively combating this energy poverty as part of their local climate protection measures.
ENPOR’s first recommendations based on the research published on taking action against energy poverty have been included in Chapter 3 tackling Energy and Buildings / Private Households. Climate Alliance has updated the practical guide together with the Service and Competence Centre: Municipal Climate Protection (SK:KK) at the German Institute of Urban Affairs (Difu) and the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (ifeu) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection.
